Metacrylics® Application Walking Deck Over New Construction Plywood:15-Year Warranty

Option 1 Class “A” Fire Rating using Georgia Pacific 1/4 inch DensDeck®:

Materials Needed
Acrylic BASE @ 5 gal/100 ft² 5 x _____ SQs = _____ Gallons
Stitchbond Polyester Fabric @ 1 SQ/100 ft² 1 x _____ SQs = _____ Squares
Acrylic COLOR @ 6 gal/100 ft² 6 x _____ SQs = _____ Gallons
Clear Acrylic SEALER @ 0.25 gal/100 ft² 0.25 x _____ SQs = _____ Gallons
Acrylic GEL and Stitchbond Fabric As Needed
  1. Thoroughly clean plywood of all debris and dust.
  2. Apply 1/4 inch or thicker, Georgia Pacific DensDeck®. Either glue or fasten the DensDeck® board as specified by the manufacturer. If no DensDeck® is used then apply 4” Stitchbond Polyester Fabric to all plywood joints using Acrylic BASE, Clear Acrylic BASE, or Acrylic GEL in a 3-Course application of BASE-Fabric-BASE or GEL-Fabric-GEL.
  3. 3-COURSE PENETRATION DETAIL (see Metacrylics® Penetration Detail instructions sheet which includes all penetrations, drains, scuppers, flashings, ductworks, & parapets.
  4. Apply to entire roof 2.5 gal/SQ Acrylic BASE, embed stitchbond polyester fabric; immediately apply 2.5 gal Acrylic BASE over the stitchbond polyester fabric. Allow 24-48 hours curing time.
  5. Apply 6 gal/SQ of Metacrylics® Acrylic COLOR in 3 applications:
    1. Apply 4 applications @ 1 gallon/100 ft² allowing dry time between each application.
    2. Apply a final application @ 2 gal/100 ft² with either 30 mesh sand or rubber granules mixed with the Metacrylics® Acrylic COLOR. Apply with texture roller cover, trowel, or texture spray gun.
  6. Apply Metacrylics® Clear Acrylic SEALER @ 0.25 gal/SQ. Allow 4-24 hours curing time.


Option 2 Class “A” Fire Rating using 2 plies of Atlas FR-10 Slipsheet:

Materials Needed
Clear Acrylic BASE @ 3 gal/100 ft² 3 x _____ SQs = _____ Gallons
Atlas FR-10 Slipsheet @ 2 SQs/100 ft² 2 x _____ SQs = _____ Squares
Acrylic BASE @ 5 gal/100 ft² 5 x _____ SQs = _____ Gallons
Stitchbond Polyester Fabric @ 1 SQ/100 ft² 1 x _____ SQs = _____ Squares
Acrylic COLOR @ 6 gal/100 ft² 6 x _____ SQs = _____ Gallons
Acrylic GEL and Stitchbond Fabric As Needed
  1. Thoroughly clean plywood of all debris and dust.
  2. Apply 1.5 gal/SQ Metacrylics® Clear Acrylic BASE; embed Atlas FR-10 Slipsheet in wet Clear BASE.
    Apply 1.5 gal/SQ Metacrylics® Clear Acrylic BASE over the Atlas FR-10; immediately embed a 2nd layer of Atlas FR-10 Slipsheet in wet Clear BASE.
  3. 3-COURSE PENETRATION DETAIL (see Metacrylics® Penetration Detail instructions sheet which includes all penetrations, drains, scuppers, flashings, ductworks, & parapets.
  4. Apply to entire roof 2.5 gal/SQ Acrylic BASE, embed stitchbond polyester fabric; immediately apply 2.5 gal Acrylic BASE over the stitchbond polyester fabric. Allow 24-48 hours curing time.
