Metacrylics® Application over Tar & Gravel Roofing: 30-Year Material Warranty

Materials Needed
Acrylic PRIMER (Gray or Black) @ 1.5 gal/100 ft² 1.5 x _____ SQs = _____ Gallons
Clear Acrylic BASE @ 7.5 gal/100 ft² 7.5 x _____ SQs = _____ Gallons
Stitchbond Polyester Fabric @ 2 SQs/100 ft² 2 x _____ SQs = _____ Squares
Acrylic WHITE @ 8 gal/100 ft² 8 x _____ SQs = _____ Gallons
Acrylic GEL and Stitchbond Fabric As Needed
  1. Spud or tear off gravel roof.
  2. Thoroughly clean roof of all debris and dust. Pressure wash roof with a minimum of 3,000 PSI.
  3. Apply Metacrylics® Clear or Black PRIMER @ 1.5 gal/100 ft² to entire roof and penetrations.
    Note: when the old roof has been completely removed, less primer will be needed.
  4. 5-COURSE PENETRATION DETAIL (see Metacrylics® Penetration Detail instructions sheet which includes all penetrations, drains, scuppers, flashings, ductworks, & parapets).
  5. Apply 2.5 gal/SQ Acrylic BASE (Gray), embed stitchbond polyester fabric with a brush or broom; immediately apply 2.5 gal Acrylic BASE (Gray) over the stitchbond polyester fabric embed a 2nd layer of stitchbond polyester fabric with a brush or broom; immediately apply 2.5 gal Acrylic BASE (Gray) over the stitchbond polyester fabric. Allow 24-48 hours curing time.
  6. Apply 4 applications of Metacrylics® Acrylic WHITE @ 2 gal/SQ each coat. Allow 24 hours drying time between coats.
