Metacrylics® over Standing Seam Metal Roofing: 20-Year Material Warranty

Materials Needed
Clear BASE/Black Acrylic PRIMER @ 1 gal/100 ft² 1 x _____ SQs = _____ Gallons
Acrylic WHITE @ 5 gal/100 ft² 5 x _____ SQs = _____ Gallons
Acrylic GEL and Stitchbond Fabric Applied to all standing seams
  1. Replace any defective corrugated panels or skylights.
  2. Wire brush and remove any flaking rust.
  3. Thoroughly pressure wash roof, especially oxidized areas, with a minimum of 3,000 PSI.
  4. Apply Clear BASE/Black Acrylic PRIMER @ 1 gal/100 ft² to entire roof surface including penetrations. Allow 4-24 hours cure time.
  5. 3-COURSE PENETRATION DETAIL (see Metacrylics® Penetration Detail instructions sheet which includes all penetrations, drains, scuppers, flashings, ductworks, & parapets).
  6. Most issues are the endlaps and the standing seam when not crimped tight. 3-Course all standing seam crimps with Metacrylics® Acrylic GEL and 4 inch Fabric. For any endlaps that may be exposed or leaking, 3-Course with GEL & 6 inch Fabric.
  7. Apply THREE applications @ 1.67 gal/SQ of Metacrylics® Acrylic WHITE each application; also, apply to all parapet walls, flashings, and ductworks. Allow 24-48 hours cure time.
